We are looking forward to hearing Josh Farrar channel the unique sounds of Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid in his new project, Microaggressions: Guitar El Chark. As usual, set at 8pm and the jam comes after!
Microaggressions infuses Arabic and other musical repertoire with electric sounds inspired by the pioneering Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid. Along with bassist Sprocket Royer, percussionists Philip Mayer and Johnny Farraj, and special guests from the BMH family, guitarist Josh Farrar, who plays an instrument fitted with additional microtonal frets, conjures electric guitar textures of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s within a variety of classic Arabic songs, as well as snippets of complementary genres such as surf, jazz, and film music.
