The Maqamposers Club is a new project dedicated to performing the music of local composers. New York has one of the most extensive Arabic music scenes in the United States, and it is the home to a large swath of musicians and composers crafting new original music that is rooted in maqam practices. Whether traditional taqatiq and sama'iyyat or more modern inventions, this performance will entirely feature instrumental compositions by local composers that are currently based in NYC.
